Second Edition

The project

The second edition of perAspera / Drama Possible, edited by the Cultural alber TS tanley, in collaboration with Teatro lost, sponsored by Municipality of Bologna - Department of Culture, Province of Bologna, Emilia-Romagna Region, District and District Savena St. Stephen, will be held in June 2009 in some "spectacular sites" located in the historic urban fabric of Bologna.
The exhibition brings together mostly new formations of artistic research in Emilia Romagna, with particular attention to all aspects of drama in every form of expression spectacular (theater, dance, performance, video art ...).

Many of the sites historically used to spectacular forms, both in Italy and abroad, have had their chance and destruction, or change their destination or, at best, their museum.
perAspera The project, as well as to denounce the difficulties of contemporary drama to be distributed and then transposed to a wider audience, while also indicates the large number of these surviving structures that remain largely untapped, or engaged in sporadic openings without an intervention specific rendering them accessible to the productions contemporary art.

The project intends to A hopes to reclaim the ancient space as an integral part of any staging of the study, because mandatory and essential structure. to which every artist will adapt its work.

The entire event program includes not only theater made, but will provide space for works in progress and performative events that interact with the sites selected for review.


Towards a European network of "contemporary theaters"

After the encouraging results of the first edition 2008, second edition, as well as increase the types of proposals the introduction of production more closely performative and video art, has also established new contacts with similar European institutions, under the "network" of Historic Theatres in Europe in many ancient structures, such as the theater of the Villa Mazzacurati, are part.

Many European organizations have already responded positively to an exchange of production and distribution of the event within its historical sites.

Venues and dates of the exhibition in Bologna

The 2009 edition will be held in the month of June 16 to 26.
addition to the Historic 1763 Theatre of Villa Mazzacurati (Via Toscana, 17-19) will review the availability of an additional space of the city over the previous edition: the ancient oratory of Baraccano (by way of Baraccano, 2), just restored and opened to the public.
